Catalan’s Conjecture

Catalan’s Conjecture is a number theory problem thought up in 1844 and proven in 2002.  The conjecture states that 23 − 32 is the only case in which xa − yb = 1 is true. Preda Mihăilescu proved that this is indeed true.
