The Wall Street Journal used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other government agencies to find what the best and worst jobs of 2012 were. They based their findings off of 5 different categories; Work environment, stress, phusical demands, hiring outlook, and income. Out of the 200 jobs they researched, Mathematicians made it to the top 10 best jobs of 2012! The average salary for mathematicians came to $99, 191.
Career Cast.com has found that Mathematicians have shown a 16% growth and have been ranked #7 for the top jobs in the nation’s capital–Washington D.C. They also said that "Most of the Best Jobs of 2012 are not only STEM-related, but require advanced degrees." Getting an advanced degree is so important in our economic world today especially if you want a higher paying job. CareerCast.com has also created a list of jobs that require mathematics. The search results come to about 3, 828. The Wall Street Journal wasn’t kidding when they said that the hiring outlooks were good for Mathematicians. Read more here
